Restoration of Thornberry Manor is well underway. Workmen in a myriad of trades are coming and going, bringing Thornberry up to code and ready for its eventual role as a vacation/retreat destination. Finlay installs locks on the bookcase doors to protect the valuable, rare collection of books—one in particular is of great value to Paisley. When she considers telling Finlay about the necklace, a voice warns her to keep it secret—her mum is the only one who knows.
Paisley and her mum explore the cemetery at Thornberry, trying to match up names and histories with the genealogy site Molly has subscribed to. For some reason, Paisley avoids learning the death date of Henry Hix, her 19th century relative.
On a rare, solo day at Thornberry, Paisley puts on the ruby necklace and is transported back in time, arriving 29 years later than her first visit. She meets up with relatives who are adults now and see her in a different light. She also meets Granville Webster, the fascinating resident of Greystorm, whose estate borders Thornberry Manor.
The ruby (like the emerald) is in crumbs when she reluctantly returns to the present. Is it a warning to stop time-traveling?
I am so pleased to share this short book trailer for Thornberry Manor: The Ruby with all of you!
I hope that this will showcase the book's mood, themes, and characters in a way that words alone cannot, creating a more memorable and impactful experience for potential readers.
"Paisley devotes herself to helping her mother manage the bookshop, the renovation of Thornberry Manor and the burgeoning of a passionate love affair. She and her Mum also delve further into the mysteries of their ancestors. Secrets must be kept, endangering her relationship with Finlay.
I enjoyed this deftly crafted story and can't wait to read where the necklace leads next!"
-AMAZON 5-STAR REVIEW
"I love these books and especially this one your really getting to know Paisley and be there with her adventures to discover the family's past and Thornberry Manor and all its history and secrets...and one step closer to finding out why she doesn't want to know Henry's death date...The ending though, poor Fin but also poor Paisley, If she would have told me, i would have probably said she was crazy not gotten angry about not telling me..."
I honestly can't wait for the next one in this series.
