Medieval Scotland. Sir Lennox Brodie, a powerful knight, leaves his homeland to fight in the Crusades. It’s a vow he’s bound to fulfill and an escape from the devastation over the death of his wife and two daughters. He returns famous, scarred, and wealthy, with his soul still in tatters.
Lennox encounters Maggie Weaver when she mistakenly enters the sun-dappled glade that belongs to him. The secluded, tranquil spot becomes the backdrop for healing, redemption, and the capacity to love again. It’s also where the unthinkable happens, giving pain and heartache free reign to test their relationship - something not even the strongest knight can protect.

Sir Lennox Brodie is a scarred and brooding knight, recently returned from the Holy Wars, carrying the heavy weight of past trauma. Tall and imposing, he commands attention yet is devoted to protecting those he cares for, especially Maggie Weaver, whose safety and happiness guide his every action.
Despite a turbulent past marked by loss and violence, he embodies deep loyalty and honor, gradually learning to temper his formidable strength with gentleness and restraint, revealing his capacity for love.

Maggie Weaver is a young woman from Stonehaven who, having endured the early loss of her mother, has learned to navigate life with quiet resilience and independence. She works alongside her father in their weaving shop, spending her days gathering plants and berries for their craft and finding solace in the nearby forests and riverbanks.
Enduring trauma at the hands of Lyle de Mortimer, she demonstrates courage and strength, forging a deep connection with Lennox Brodie, who becomes both her protector and her love.

Lyle de Mortimer is a manipulative and obsessive man whose childhood attachment to Maggie Weaver twisted into possessive desire as he grew older. He comes from a family that includes at least one brother, Hector, and his upbringing fostered a sense of entitlement and cruelty, shaping him into someone willing to intimidate, control, and harm to get what he wants.
His relentless pursuit of Maggie and utter disregard for her well-being makes him a continual source of fear and conflict in her life.
